Common questions
Won't an AI hallucinate the local spots?
That's the design point of hostbook. The model only writes about places you've named in the form — your picks, your hospital, your transit notes. If a section feels thin, the guidebook stays thin rather than fabricating a recommendation. We test this with deliberately sparse input on every release.
How is this different from Touchstay or Hostfully Guidebooks?
Both are good products built for people willing to pay $9–$99 a month and learn a workspace. Hostbook is a flat one-shot $19 artifact for hosts who don't want a subscription and don't want to log in twice.
Can I edit the guidebook later?
In v1 the guidebook is one-shot — if the WiFi password changes, you'd re-purchase ($19 again). Per-property re-edit subscription ($5/mo) is on the v1.1 roadmap. We're shipping the one-shot first because most hosts told us they'd rather pay once than commit monthly.
What's your refund policy?
Two ways you can get a refund automatically from your dashboard: if our system flagged the guidebook as a generation failure (we couldn’t produce a guidebook from the facts you supplied), refunds are available for 90 days; or if our logs show you never opened your dashboard or printed the PDF after delivery, refunds are available for 30 days. Anything else, email hostbook@forage.bot — we'll work it out case-by-case.
Can I take the hosted page down?
Yes — one click from your dashboard, immediate. The URL flips to a 404 right away. Anything you've already printed is in the wild, of course.
